Grader - Instructional Student Assistant

The American Indian Studies Department hires Instructional Student Assistants (Graders) to assist with grading and administrative duties for lower- and upper-division courses. Under supervision, the Instructional Student Assistant assists an instructor with grading and administrative duties for a lower or upper-division undergraduate class over the course of an academic term. Duties may include maintaining student records (attendance, grades, etc.), proctoring examinations, evaluating tests, quizzes, homework and other assignments (based on a rubric provided by the instructor), and assisting with other course management tasks.

Qualifications

Incumbents must possess the ability to learn and perform assigned work; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; and accept responsibility. Completion of specific coursework or advanced standing in the American Indian Studies degree program may be required. Strong reading comprehension skills are required. Applicants must be a currently-admitted or registered CSU student.

Pay Rate and Hours

Pay rate is $16.20 per hour. Appointments vary from 5 to 20 hours per week. (A student employee who works a combination of jobs may not work more than 20 hours total per week in all jobs.)
