Instructions for Students Enrolled in AMIND-498 (AMIND Community Service)

Your enrollment in AMIND Community Service must be supervised by a professor in the American Indian Studies Department. Your faculty supervisor will advise you on the full requirements for completing your community service project, and can also suggest potential organizations if you do not already have an organization selected.

After you have secured your community service position, you will need to have a representative from your organization sign and return the SDSU Community Service Learning Agreement Form. Please follow the steps below:

  1. Download the sample SDSU Service Learning Agreement Form.

  2. Email the sample form to your contact person at the organization so that they can look it over before we send them the actual form. If your contact person has questions, please have them contact your faculty supervisor.

  3. After your contact person has reviewed the sample form, please complete this Google form (you should complete this Google form, not your contact person). Then we will send the Service Learning Agreement to your contact person for their signature.

Self-Interview: The final component of your Community Service Project will be a short self-interview. After you have completed your entire Community Service project, and prior to the end of the semester, please complete the self-interview located.
