Undergraduate Advising for American Indian Studies

The Undergraduate Adviser is Dr. David Kamper. Some of the services the adviser provides include:

  • Academic advising for current American Indian Studies major and minors.
  • Assisting students who wish to declare an American Indian Studies major or minor (see below for further instructions).
  • Assisting Interdisciplinary Studies students who want to choose American Indian Studies as one of their disciplines.
  • Advising prospective freshmen or transfer students who are interested in our programs.

STEP 1 - Review the major page for information about requirements and prerequisites.

STEP 2 - Complete all of the following preparation for the major requirements: 

  • Complete the two preparation for the major courses: American Indian Studies 110; and 140 or 141. (6 units)
  • Complete a minimum of 60 transferable semester units;
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.

STEP 3 - Complete the online form.

STEP 4 - Meet with the American Indian Studies Undergraduate Adviser (see above for instructions).

STEP 5 - Submit a Declaration or Change of Undergraduate Major and Minor form to the Registrar's Office (the Undergraduate Adviser will assist you).
